Talking Books
The Florida Division of Blind Services' Bureau of Braille and Talking Books Library serves more than 31,647 Florida residents who cannot use standard print reading materials as the result of a visual, physical, or reading disability. It is the largest library of its kind in the U.S., with a collection of more than 2.4 million items in Braille and audio format, and annual loans exceeding 1.99 million items.
If you or someone you know has trouble reading print because of an eye problem, a reading disability, or difficulty holding a book because of arthritis, a stroke, or an accident, the Braille and Talking Books Library can help.

The Braille and Talking Books Library also has a digital download site and has recently launched a free app for the iPhone, iPad, and iPod. You must be a patron of the Braille and Talking Books Library to use BARD, but signing up is easy.
To apply for BARD:
Step 1: Go to nlsbard.loc.gov
Step 2: Click on link 'BARD application instructions'
Step 3: If you have an individual account click on 'Link to BARD for Individuals'
OR
Step 3: If you have an institutional account click on 'Link to BARD for Institutions'
Step 4: Select 'Florida Bureau of Braille & Talking Books Library' & submit
Step 5: Complete information & submit
Within 48 hours you will receive an email with instructions on how to login to BARD!
