Leesburg Public Library Announces Temporary Closure for Interior Renovations  

LEESBURG, FL – For a few days this spring, the Leesburg Public Library will close to undergo scheduled interior improvements and facility maintenance. The library, located at 100 East Main Street, will close from Monday, April 27 through Sunday, May 10, 2026.

This project requires a full building closure to allow crews to replace carpeting throughout the entire facility. During this time, we will rearrange furniture and shelving to create a more functional and accessible layout for the community. These updates reflect the library's ongoing commitment to maintaining an inviting environment for all patrons.

Service Impacts and Information:

• Building Access: During this renovation period, we will close the library building and suspend all in-person services. This includes the acceptance of book donations. Rest assured, our staff remains available to assist you via phone or email, Monday through Friday, from 9:00am to 5:00pm.
• Due Dates: Loan periods for materials checked out prior to the closure will be adjusted so that no items are due while the building is closed.
• Returns: The external book drop on Elk Street will remain open and available for returns throughout the duration of the project. You can also return eligible materials to other Lake County Library locations.
• Digital Resources: The library’s digital collection remains available 24/7. You can continue to manage your online account as well as access e-books, audiobooks, streaming services, and other online services via the library’s website and mobile apps.
• Programming: The library will cancel or relocate all scheduled in-person programs during these dates. You can find specific event updates on the library’s online calendar.
