Celebrate Lake Library Week with Lake County!

Dive Into New Worlds at Your Library
April 20, 2026 – April 25, 2026

Lake County - Lake County is excited to announce the upcoming Lake Library Week, set to take place from April 20, 2026, to April 25, 2026. This week-long celebration is dedicated to the vital role our public libraries play in fostering knowledge, creativity, and community. Residents are encouraged to visit their local library, explore the variety of services offered, and sign up for a library card if they don’t already have one.

What is Lake Library Week?
Lake Library Week is a time to celebrate the numerous resources our local libraries offer to residents of all ages. From books and digital media to educational programs and community events, our libraries are hubs of learning and connection. Throughout the week, libraries across Lake County will host a series of exciting activities, workshops, and special events, all designed to highlight the incredible impact libraries have on our lives.

Why Sign Up for a Library Card?
A library card is your gateway to a world of possibilities. Not only will you have access to thousands of books, e-books, and audiobooks, but you will also be able to take advantage of free educational programs, research resources, digital learning tools, and more! Signing up for a library card is easy, and Lake County libraries offer a variety of materials and services for all ages and interests.

Join the Celebration!
During Lake Library Week, we encourage all residents to stop by their local library, take part in the week’s activities, and sign up for a library card if they haven’t already done so. Whether you're a lifelong reader or new to the world of libraries, there’s something for everyone.

How to Get Involved:

  • Visit your local library: Find out what special events and programs are happening during Lake Library Week.
  • Sign up for a library card: If you don’t already have one, library staff will be happy to assist you in signing up.
  • Attend special events: Join us for book clubs, live music, kids' story hours, creative programs, and more!

“Lake Libraries Week reminds us that libraries are not just places to read, but places to belong, explore, and discover something new every day.” said Associate Library Director Lindsay Platt.
