  •  Cooper Memorial Library will adjust library hours in March due to the Lake-Sumter Community College Spring Break, March 7-13.  The library will open Monday – Thursday from 10 a.m. -7 p.m. March 8 -11. The library will close Friday – Sunday, March 12, 13 and 14.

  • Bookmark Design Contest Announced
    Libraries are proud to announce the 11th annual Bookmark Design Contest for Lake County K-12 students and adults. This year’s theme is “Adventure in Books”, to compliment the theme of our Festival of Reading “Adventures in Paradise”.   • Winter Reading Program
    December 18 - March 30

    Teenagers (grades 7-12) stop by the Cooper Memorial Library and pick up a reading log at the Kids' Corner. Read 3 books and/or listen to 3 audio books to complete your log. Turn in your log and receive a small prize. All completed logs will be entered intro a drawing on March 30th. The new Cooper Memorial Library 50,000 square foot facility will offer wireless computer access, state-of-the-art reference and resources; a bookstore, restaurant, computer classrooms, and group-study rooms. The community will enjoy full library services, including general access to computers, a 6,000 square foot children's section and a separate area for teenagers. The library is a partnership project of Lake Sumter Community College, the Lake County Board of County Commissioners and the University of Central Florida.
