Trash to Fashion Contest for Tweens and Teens

The public is invited to the Lake County Library System’s 4th annual Trash to Fashion Show.  Recycling is in, and trash has never looked better.  Join talented teens and tweens on Saturday, October 26, in the Umatilla Public Library program room beginning at 11 a.m. This unique fashion show will feature outfits created by young designers ages 8 - 19 using at least 60% recycled or repurposed materials.

Trash to Fashion is an arts and cultural experience. The trash fashions provide charming environmental messages in a show that is both fun and purposeful. Insight Financial Credit Union will award cash prizes ranging from $100 to $25 to the top 6 unique fashions. Runners-up receive a smaller prize from a special library treasure chest.

Coldwater Creek, The Villages, the fresh, trend-inspired fashion store, will provide light refreshments. Liz Curtis from Bay Street Players in Eustis will be our emcee. Seating is limited, but a standing room only area will be available.
