“Read for the Record" @ the Minneola Schoolhouse Library

On Thursday, October 3, 2013, from 10:30 to 11:30 a.m. the Minneola Schoolhouse Library will take part in Jumpstart’s annual “Read for the Record.” Children are invited to join us at the library and be counted. Our numbers will be added to those across the country attending read aloud gatherings held this fall. This year’s book which shows the value of friendship is Otis by Loren Long.
The program at the Minneola Library is more than joining together to read out loud. Children will get a chance to do some group experiments led by Linda Goff, Lake County Library System’s Youth Services Coordinator.

Jumpstart’s Read for the Record, presented in partnership with the Pearson Foundation, is an annual event during which millions of individuals across the country help celebrate literacy in an effort to jumpstart a child’s future. The Minneola Schoolhouse Library is holding their October program in support of Jumpstart’s mission: to work toward the day that every child in America enters school prepared to succeed.
