Know Your Nature 4-H @ Leesburg Public Library

On Thursday, August 6th at 1:00pm, bring the family for an informative and fun presentation from 4-H at the Leesburg Public library. All ages are invited to spend the afternoon discovering some of the native animals that live in Florida, along with some other critters that don't live here. Also learn about water pollution, how to test for it, and what we can do to help conserve water here in Lake County. 4-H is the nation’s largest youth development and empowerment organization, reaching more than 6 million 4-H youth in urban neighborhoods, suburban schoolyards and rural farming communities. Fueled by university-backed curriculum and our nation's Cooperative Extension System, 4-H'ers engage in hands-on learning activities in the areas of science, healthy living, and food
security.

4-H is a youth organization that focuses on hands-on learning. 4-H is open to all youth ages 5-18. Youth have an opportunity for once in a lifetime experiences, that can include State, National, and International travel. There is a place for everyone in 4-H. Do you like gardening? Engines? Public Speaking? Animals? Heath and Safety? Bugs? Crafting? We have a place for you! If your interest isn’t listed, don’t worry! There is a project waiting for you that focuses on your passion. For more information on 4-H please contact the Lake County Extension Office, 352-343-4101, or email the Lake County 4-H agent Rachel Slocumb, r.fautsch@ufl.edu.

Library is located at 100 E. Main Street, Leesburg, FL 34748. Call (352)728-9790 or email librarian@Leesburgflorida.gov.
