The Minneola Schoolhouse Library will have reading programs for three age groups this summer. Registration for all three programs begins on June 15.
Superhero Training Camp for Children is scheduled each Wednesday in July at 2:30 p.m. The first twenty-five children who register will receive a tote bag containing a poster to color, July's Activity Calendar, a pencil, a book, a bookmark and a reading log. The information taken at registration will be used to assign each child his/her superhero name and story to prepare them for the five weeks of training. All superheroes will practice reading, telling stories, singing, drawing and dancing, those things that are required of all superheroes. All superheroes will design and make their own costumes over the five-week period.
Teens Unmask! Reveal your reading selves. Teens may sign a contract promising to read six books before August 15. Each participating teen will receive a backpack with a reading contract, pen and reading log. The teens that fulfill their contract will receive a gift basket by Gail built especially for them.
Adults, Escape the Ordinary! Let books carry you into the extraordinary. Each adult that signs a contract agreeing to read six books before August 15 will receive a book bag containing a bookmark, pen and reading log. Those that read the required number of books will be invited to a tasty afternoon party.
