The Lake County Library System will host the 4th annual Trash to Fashion Contest on Saturday, October 19, in the meeting room at Umatilla Public Library beginning at 11 a.m. This spectacular fashion extravaganza featuring eco-outfits from recycled or waste materials invites young people to think outside the recycle bin and design a piece of wearable art based on the creative use of "trash" -- found, salvaged, scavenged, and repurposed materials. Entry to the show is free and contestants have a chance to win prizes provided by our sponsor, Insight Financial Credit Union.
To celebrate Teen Read Week, the Trash to Fashion Contest will be open this year to tweens (ages 8-12) and teens (ages 13 -19). Winners will be chosen in both categories.
