- Congress declares National Adult Education and Family Literacy Week 2010
WASHINGTON – The National Coalition for Literacy (NCL) invites you to join them in celebrating National Adult Education and Family Literacy Week, September 13-17, 2010. This Congressional declaration, H. Res 1472, was sponsored by Rep. Jared Polis [D-CO] and is the culmination of literacy advocacy and outreach resulting in twenty co-signers in the House. - Introducing the Permanent List Feature to the Catalog
New version of the Lake County Library System catalog will introduce a number of exciting and useful new features. The new online catalog allows users to make multiple lists which are kept privately in the user’s account. Once created, users can format the lists, print the lists, or email the lists to their email address.

- Call for entries in Trash to Fashion Contest
The Lake County Library System will host Trash to Fashion Contest, a spectacular teen fashion extravaganza featuring eco-outfits from recycled or waste materials. This program invites you to think outside the recycle bin and design a piece of wearable art, fashion, or an accessory based on the creative use of "trash" -- found, salvaged, scavenged, and repurposed materials. Prizes will be awarded at Rock the Runway, on Saturday, October 23rd at the Cooper Memorial Library.
