A: Please view this as a general announcement.

Q: I have a temporary, digital access card. Can I check out physical items?
A: No. You must have a physical library card to check out physical items. A physical card will also give you access to digital items. Please visit one of our open libraries to get a physical library card.

Q: Would I get fines for digital materials?
A: No. Digital materials (ebooks & digital movies, digital magazines, and databases) never incur a fine. Only physical items incur a fine if returned late.

Q: How much are fines?
A: Different items have different fines.

Books, DVDs, CDs, ukuleles = $0.10/day per item
Videogames, baking pans = $1/day per item
Other items vary.

The cost of an item will be added to your account if the item is lost.

A: Different items have different checkout times. Sign in to your online account or contact an open library for assistance.

Q: How can I renew an item?
A: Sign in to your online account or contact an open library for assistance. An item can only be renewed if no other patrons have put a hold request on the item.

Q: How many times can I renew an item?
A: You can renew an item up to two times.

Q: Why are the items I just returned still on my account?
A: All returned items are quarantined for two business days, then checked in on the third business day. You will not be fined while items are in quarantine. Please contact your library if your returns are still on your account after four business days.
