The annual Trash to Fashion Contest is an arts and cultural experience that now spans ages 8 to 19.
The Lake County Library System will host the 5th annual Trash to Fashion Contest, a spectacular fashion extravaganza featuring eco-outfits from recycled or waste materials. This program invites tweens and teens to think outside the recycle bin and design a piece of wearable art, fashion, or an accessory based on the creative use of found, salvaged, scavenged, and repurposed materials. Prizes will be awarded by a panel of judges tasked with choosing 6 winning designs from creations modeled at the Trash to Fashion Show. We hope to see many tween and teen contestants and an enthusiastic audience when the fun starts on Saturday, October 18, at 10:30 a.m. at W.T. Bland Public Library.
After the contest, pictures of all outfits and accessories will be posted on our website and available for download.
