Storytime for children affected by autism spectrum disorder

The East Lake County Library will begin Remy Time on Tuesday, June 17, from 6:30 pm - 7:30 pm. Remy Time is a sensory storytime adapted for children and families impacted by ASD, Autism Spectrum Disorder. This warm and welcoming library program follows a format including books with simple, repetitive text, songs galore, and plenty of tactile activities such as scarf dancing and fidget toys.

Special guest Gesa Barto from UCF’s Center for Autism & Related Disabilities (CARD) will be in attendance to answer questions. CARD's mission is to educate and empower individuals and families affected by ASD by providing support, assistance, and awareness within the community. Their goal is to optimize the potential of all individuals with autism and related disabilities.

Remy Time will be offered every 1st Saturday morning at 10:30 a.m. and every 3rd Tuesday evening at 6:30 p.m. East Lake County Library is located at 31340 C.R. 437 South in Sorrento. You do not have to register. For additional information, contact Elizabeth Steele at 352-383-9980.
