Lake County Library System has cancelled the Westlaw database an online database containing federal and state case law, statutes, regulations, and legal periodicals.
In addition, the legal research resources and legal-related materials previously housed at the Cooper Memorial Library will no longer be updated. The law collection contained various publications from LexisNexis and Thomson Reuters.
The library’s website www.mylakelibrary.org will still link to the self- help publications provided by the Lake County Clerk of Courts for those who choose to represent themselves in legal matters. The forms may be printed from any computer with internet access, including public computers at any county library. When downloaded and printed at a county library, the patron will be charged only for the cost of printing.
If you need only one form, or if a particular form is not available at the Lake County Clerk of Courts’ web site, individual family law forms are available from the Florida State Courts web site at: http://www.flcourts.org/gen_public/family/forms_rules/index.shtml. Other websites useful in legal research will be added to the website in the near future.
For help concerning self-help materials or legal reference questions in general, call the Reference Librarian at your local Lake County Library System library.
