Volunteers Honored By County Commissioners

Each year, the Lake County Board of County Commissioners honors volunteers who've served Lake County. This year's ceremony occurred on Februrary 27 at the county board meeting.

The volunteers contributed over 19,000 hours in 2017 at the animal shelter, public libraries, parks and other offices, significantly assisting the county in offering excellent customer service and facilitating important programs to Lake County residents.

Their service amounted to the equivalent of nine full-time employee positions, and if paid minimum wage for these hours, would be valued at more than $154,000 combined.

Of the 46 volunteers recognized, 24 (52%) helped the Lake County Library System. Their names are below:
