Astor Geek Fest

Astor Geek Fest a festival of all things Geek hosted by Astor County Library

What is Astor Geek Fest?

Join the Astor County Library on Saturday, August 6th for a celebration of all things Geek! Literature, fandoms, cosplay, music, steampunk, dieselpunk, superheroes and even the villains, sci-fi, fantasy, imagination, and more.

Join us for a day of fun and geektastic prizes too! There will be a cosplay contest for Adults, Teens, and Children. Take pictures with the 501st Legion Star Wars Stormtroopers, Guardians of Justice or the Orlando Ghostbusters. Go back in time to the Renaissance and see real knights in armor and walk through a Renaissance camp, see crafters at work with the help of the SCA. Get hands-on with STEM activities with the American Society of Civil Engineers.

Have you ever seen a Splendid Teapot Race? Come and drive a robot. Learn a bit about Florida history and see artists, craftsmen, jewelry makers, LARP battles, table top gaming and there is so much more to experience at the first ever Astor Geek Fest!

The purpose of this event is to bring something awesome to our community, promote the great services and opportunities the library provides, and yes, even raise some funds for programs, equipment, tech and more!

Visit our Facebook page for more details and to see exhibitors and vendors appearing at the event! http://facebook.com/astorcountylibrary

This event is FREE to the public, no registration required, and you do not have to have a library card to attend or participate in the event activities. So bring a friend or several! Astor Geek Fest will be held at the Astor County Library located at 54905 Alco Road, Astor, FL 32102. You can reach them by phone at 352.759.9913.  Event will run from 10:00 am until 4:00 pm.
