During the month of March, the Marion Baysinger Memorial Library will be offering iPad classes on Tuesdays and Thursdays, starting March 10th. These classes will include: Basic settings, Internet browsing and Bookmarking, an overview of Zinio and Overdrive, Managing eBooks and Magazines, Facetime, Messaging, iMovie/iPhoto tutorials and much more!

Lake County Library’s employee, Chase Stroud, will be training students how to use iPads at both beginning and intermediate levels. Online registration is requested. If further instruction is needed, Chase is available for one-on-one tutoring, which can be set up via email at cstroud@lakeline.lib.fl.us. Schedule is as follows:

March 10, 2015: Basic Settings: an Introduction to Your Apple Product
An introduction to the Apple iPad, getting students comfortable with using their device
March 17, 2015: Settings Continued and Built-in Apps
We will explore the various built-in applications that make the iPad a useful tool for everyday life
March 24, 2015: iPad Communication: Facetime and Messaging
Getting users comfortable with the iPad’s messaging services such as Facetime and iMessaging

Advanced Classes on Thursdays from 6:00-7:30 p.m.

March 12, 2015: Overdrive and Zinio: Managing Your Library Resources
Using eReader resources made available by the library
March 19, 2015: iPhoto and iMovie
Using some of the iPad’s most popular features for photo and video editing
March 26, 2015: iCloud and Working with PCs
Discussion of iCloud and how to transfer information from your device to your home computer.

These classes will be covering iPads. For this reason, it will not be in a student’s best interest to bring other tablets to the class. You may sign up for more than one class if you would like to explore the different features of the iPad.
