Kathryn and Gene Conley
One of a Kind
Advantage Biography

Gene Conley truly IS one of a kind – he is the only person in professional sports history to play and win world championships in both Major League Baseball (1957 Milwaukee Braves) and the National Basketball Association (1958/’59, ‘59/’60 and ‘60/’61 Boston Celtics). He played alongside some of the greats in both sports, like Hank Aaron and Bill Russell, during his career, and now spends his retired days following, in his own words, ‘all sports,’ and taking in All-Star games that he used to star in.

Kathryn "Katie" Conley, the author of the book, One of a Kind, is Gene Conley's wife. This book is as much her story as it is his. You learn about their young lives, their courtship, Katie's devotion to the teaching of the Seventh Day Adventist church, and Gene's rise to play two professional sports. One Of A Kind chronicles Gene's amazing career and the family that supported him every step of the way.

Tamar Myers
Hell Hath No Curry
HarperCollins

Tamar Myers was born and raised in the Belgian Congo where she grew up eating elephant, hippopotamus and even monkey.  She attended a boarding school that was two days away by truck, and sometimes it was necessary to wade through crocodile infested waters to reach it.

In college Tamar began to submit novels for publication, but it took twenty-three years for her to get published.  Persistence paid off, however, because Tamar is now the author of two ongoing mystery series.  One is set in Pennsylvania and features Magdalena Yoder, an Amish-Mennonite sleuth who runs a bed and breakfast in the mythical town of Hernia.  The other is set in the Carolinas and centers around the adventures of Abigail Timberlake, the proud owner of an antique store, the Den of Antiquity.

In 2003 Tamar received the Order of the Palmetto, the highest honor the State of South Carolina bestows on civilians.  She is a member of Pennwriters, Sisters in Crime, Novelists Inc., and the Mystery Writers of America. She is busy writing her twenty-fourth mystery. Join us in reading Tamar!
